Antlia Pro logo representing an advanced pulmonary function testing device

AI-Based Oscillometry Device

India's First FOT Device

Antlia Pro®, a pulmonary function test machine featuring Forced Oscillation Technology (FOT) to provide in-depth information about respiratory mechanics – all while your patient breathes normally and easily!

Antlia Pro® enables complete PC–patient communication through a Bacterial–Viral Filter, ensuring a safe and secure test. It eliminates the need for forceful breathing manoeuvres, making the procedure effortless and non-intimidating for patients.

A clean, intuitive interface that helps clinicians capture, review, and interpret respiratory data without any complexity. It streamlines workflow, delivers clear insights, and supports confident decision-making in every test.

Testing Window

Parameters Table (Pre vs Post)

    • Compares lung mechanics before and after bronchodilator use.

    • Resistance: R5 total airways, R19 central airways, R5–R19 small airways.

    • Reactance: X5 lung elasticity, AX overall stiffness, Fres rises with obstruction.

    • Post-treatment improvement indicates better compliance and small airway function.

    • AI (Anomaly Index): Shows deviation from normal values for quick interpretation.

Key Points of the R and X Graph
  1. High low-frequency resistance indicates small airway obstruction.

  2. Reduced resistance after treatment shows improved airway opening.

  3. Negative low-frequency reactance reflects reduced lung elasticity.

  4. Reactance shifting toward zero post-test indicates improved lung mechanics.

R5 & X5 vs Flow (Intra-Breath Analysis)
  1. Shows airway behaviour during normal breathing.
  2. R5 changes track resistance across the breath cycle.
  3. More negative expiratory X5 indicates small airway closure.
  4. Detects early airway instability missed by spirometry.
  •
R5 & X5 vs Volume (Intra-Breath Analysis)
  1. Shows resistance and elasticity changes during tidal breathing.

  2. R5 variation reflects volume-dependent airway narrowing.

  3. More negative X5 indicates reduced compliance and small airway closure.

  4. Helps detect early small airway disease.

How Does the FOT Work?

Forced Oscillation Technology

Antlia Pro® harnesses the forced oscillation technology (FOT), a clinically proven alternative to standard spirometry.

Rather than requiring forceful breathing manoeuvres, FOT evaluates a patient’s respiratory system by measuring impedance — its two key components being resistance (Rrs) and reactance (Xrs).

Using gentle pressure oscillations at multiple frequencies (typically between 5 and 20 Hz), Antlia Pro captures these parameters while the patient breathes normally, offering a sensitive, non-invasive assessment of lung function.

  • Small pressure oscillations are applied during normal breathing.

  • Lung response reveals airway and tissue mechanics.

  • Resistance indicates airflow obstruction.

  • Reactance reflects lung elasticity and peripheral airways.

  • Frequency analysis detects early airway changes missed by spirometry.

FAQ's

How does FOT differ from spirometry?

FOT is performed during normal breathing and does not require forceful effort, unlike spirometry.

FOT is helpful for children, older adults, and patients who struggle with forced breathing manoeuvres.

Yes. FOT is sensitive to small airway dysfunction and changes in lung mechanics, allowing detection of early respiratory abnormalities even when spirometry results are normal.

FOT requires only a few relaxed breaths and is shorter and more comfortable than spirometry in many clinical settings. It requires 24 seconds to perform one manoeuvre.

Yes. FOT is non-invasive, radiation-free, and effort-independent, making it safe for repeated and follow-up assessments.

FOT measures respiratory impedance, which includes:
i) Resistance (R) – reflects airway obstruction (e.g., R5, R19/R20)
ii) Reactance (X) – reflects lung compliance and elastic properties (e.g., X5)
iii) R5–R19 (or R5–R20) – indicates small airway dysfunction
